Black Gay Speak is a grass roots effort to promote the gathering, idea sharing between, information dissemination among, and enrichment of, gay black men, in safe spaces.
It encourages gay black men to engage in healthy dialogues about issues important to us, i.e. relationships, religion, media portrayals and our role in the political arena, to name a few. This dialogue in turn should lead to new ways of thinking, and development of social and political strategies of dealing with the issues, whether they be personal or on a large scale.
Essentially, it gives us a rare opportunity to come together and share our various backgrounds and experiences as self-identified gay men. Issues important enough to bring people together to talk seriously warrant a proper treatment. Thats Black Gay Speak.
